NCAA Teams Up with Dynamix and Post Time

We've seen the overall destruction in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina hit. We know about the slow but sure progress in rebuilding the Gulf Coast. But is life for New Orleanians getting back to normal yet? With the help of NCAA Football, a part of the rebuilding process is taking place on the football fields. Through Host Communications, NCAA Football recently hired Post Time Productions and Dynamix Productions to produce nationally-televised PSAs that document their commitment of $750,000 to help budding young athletes in New Orleans get back on their feet.

Post Time and Dynamix produced several PSAs that are now showing during college football television broadcasts. Several local PSAs for the New Orleans Recreation Department (NORD) to promote youth, coaches, and officials clinics.

From the NCAA Football press release (July 6, 2007): NCAA Football, along with licensing partners Russell Athletics and Wilson Sporting Goods, today announced they will contribute $750,000 in equipment, apparel and services to establish and support various football initiatives for the youth of New Orleans.

“One of the primary goals of NCAA Football has always been to support and enhance youth football,” said Tom Hansen, President of NCAA Football and Pac-10 Commissioner. “We are especially pleased to be able to make this type of commitment to the youth of New Orleans. This region was devastated by Hurricane Katrina and is in need of much assistance. This great nation’s future depends on the development and contributions of our youth, and sports are often a great mechanism for learning life’s most valuable lessons. We are proud to be able to help so many young people in an area that needs so much help.”

The financial contribution will be utilized in multiple ways. In addition to providing uniforms for every player and footballs for every team, efforts will also focus on recruiting and utilizing volunteers with expertise in all areas surrounding youth football.
